_the [ ] space

The Pause Space is a temporary installation designed and built for the Monumental Club Festival in Barcelona. Conceived as an «unprogrammed» sanctuary, it offers a moment of contemplation amidst the high-energy atmosphere of a music festival. The structure acts as a shadow by day and a vibrant beacon by night, serving as both a landmark and a meeting point.

We utilized a metal mesh structure combined with 11,000 reused plastic glasses to create a light-responsive "skin".

Core Mission

Efficiency & Branding Integration

The project faced two primary constraints: a strict 9-hour setup window and the need to represent the sponsor’s brand identity (a Granada-based brewery) through the use of arabesque jalis. I participated in the conceptualization and development, turning these limitations into design opportunities through a modular construction system.

At night, the installation transforms into a light-emitting beacon, with the translucent plastic glasses diffusing light to create a glowing, textured volume.

A project where logistics meet poetry: Pause Space demonstrates how simple, reused materials can be engineered into a high-impact urban landmark that encourages reflection in the middle of a crowd
